A Sunny Day on Belmont and the Rideau River
Size: 16" x 20"
Size: 24" x 36" x 2"
I am a fine arts painter who works in oils, acrylics and watercolour. After retiring from a career at Queen’s Park in Toronto I turned to my first love, literature and became a published author and poet. I then turned to painting and am finding joy in the hard work and many challenges.
My Rideau Rive collection of paintings depicts my love of nature. Five out of the six paintings shown are from photographs I have taken of the Rideau depicting scenes from the river. The play of light on water offers such a great sense of inspiration and vitality to my work. My vision is an effort to capture what the eye perceives. I want to share my perspective in a visual conversation with my viewers. I strongly feel that though we are facing negative news on a daily basis there is so much beauty in the world to be brought to light.
My work can be found in private collections in Toronto, Montreal, Victoria and Fort Lauderdale.
